JohnMu replied in another discussion and noted that We should start a different forum thread. Both the website got warning messages over at GWT. This is odd, because neither site benefited from spammy backlinks since I've owned them.By using backlink-viewing software , like ahrefs I can see a lot of profile backlinks pointing to websites, you know, though that I didn't put those backlinks. And, I have, typically, warned people to not buy into blog networks, profile links, paid links. You know it is easy for a spam peddler to add questionable backlinks pointing any website, because doing this sort of thing is the only thing they do every day. Thus far, neither urls appears to be adversely affected because of links, and additionally in my situation, getting traffic coming from Google isn't especially important relative to the large audience I already have. I did create requests on both web properties since JohnMu suggested, but that other questions are still out there :What actions can a webmaster undertake the moment that this occurs? Will Google still say that what others undertake to my website should not ,uh, affect the rankings of someone elses site?If it's true, does anyone understand that they are basically creating the larger market for the the spammy backlinks they want to prevent? Why, should you find unnatural links, don't you simply delete the links from your index and carry on?It's less important to many of us, to gain answers for these specific issues. It's far more important to webmasters that someone fix these problems soon.
