I did a lot of analysis ahead of getting this device, I couldnt choose among this and the virtually identical Lowrance Elite5 chartplotter device. After reading countless testimonials I chose the Hummingbird. The Lowrance has additional coloration palete possibilities but the hummingbird experienced the outdated design sonar capacity in any other case they appear to be the identical to me. I am soo glad I chose this 1! The downscan is awesome, truly displaying excellent detail of composition and bottom, but its actually challenging to see fish and baitfish on it. The aged fashion (seems like an updated model)shows fish and baitfish wonderful and will mark them on the display screen. This unit will allow you to split the display and use each sonar forms at the same time, and its freaking wonderful. The chartplotter is nice for navigating the major lakes but the included mapping is undesirable on small lakes demonstrating just a blank white display screen with your boat in the center. But you can mark a waypoint for the dock to assist you get back again and see your tracks as you go to assist navigate blindly. The coolest portion of getting a chartplotter is being able to mark locations of framework or fish zones and be equipped to return to them later on with out throwing away time obtaining to troll over lifeless h2o trying to find "that spot" all over again later in the day.
